Ranga Mateer Deshae Jabi ...
23-25 March, 2012
The tour begins on 23 March 2012 from Kolkata station by Jognina Express at 8.55 p.m. We have five people – Nandini my better half, Saranya my daughter, Suvra Roy my mother-in-law and Chumki my sister-in-law. We reached the Rampurhut station at 2.00 a.m. on 24th March 2012. From the station we reached the Kali mandir via Van within 30 minutes at the cost of Rs. 50 per head. At the nearest crossing of the temple, we searched few hotels but the response was so poor from the caretaker. Finally we got one room of a hotel with the charge of Rs. 325. The caretaker allowed us to use refreshing room of another room without any charge.
All of us had bath within 4.00 a.m. and arrived the temple at 4.15 a.m. Within a temple, there was a small queue for general. But puja would be accepted by purahit not before 7.30 a.m. for general queue. Thus we five stood after 250 people in a special queue. The puja is taken from 4.00 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. for the people of special queue. But on 24th March still after 5.30 a.m. puja was taken from the people of the special queue. Because of heavy crowd relaxation was given. One bitter thing when we stood in the special queue was that a tea maker put fire on his woven (unun) which generated lot of smoke. That amount of smoke really made us horrible.
However we gave a very satisfied puja without any panda. We completed our puja nearly 6.30 a.m. After completion of the puja, we visited the sasan which is just in the opposite lane of the temple. From there we moved to the nearest crossing of the temple, and purchased Kesari Paira (Sweet) from the reputed shop Kakatua. Then we had a cup of tea. Just before having that tea, one auto riksha run over the left leg of a puppy. That puppy and his/her mother shout so loudly with so much sorrow. One most shocking thing to me was that there was so many local people including shopper and general people, but no one told a single line to that driver of the auto riksha.
Finally we got a snap into our hotel till 10.30 a.m. after that we moved to our next destination by a car (Tata Venture). We get on all our luggage to the Venture and moved to the nearest crossing of the temple. There we had our breakfast in the Lancha Ghar. The quality of the luchi and langcha was very delicious and fresh. The jouney from the Tarapith temple to the Masenjor was nearly one and half hour. The darjeling road is the way to reach the Masenjor. The beauty of the road was awesome. Lot of Shalgach was appeared in both sides of the road. Shakgach is not only well known for its hardy wood but shalgach also give us shalpata which was used as a thala for having specially warm food. The Masenjor barrage is built on the flow of Maurakhi river. The scenic environment of small Tilas, Trees and Water was really very attractive. In one Jups, we had cold drinks and then started journey towards Bolpur.
Nearly 2 hours was taken to reach from Masenjor to Bolpur. We check in a Hotel namely VIP Lauge. The charge per day of the Hotel was Rs. 600. The room of the hotel was satisfactory. We pulled Lunch into the room. In the lunch, we had dal, alu bhaja, tarkari, rui mach. The cost of the mill was Rs. 65. After having lunch we sleep till 5.30 p.m. Then we go for walking in the bolpur. We visited handicraft maela. We took three Ektara, two Rabindra Murti, few shirts for Manu and then having cup of tea. We slept early 9.30 p.m. because of next day local site scenes.
Then we moved to Lal Kuthi which is very renounced for cutting and decorating Leather Goods. Again the Kopai river was seen just behind the Lal Kuthi Show Room. The strong bridge near the kopai river gave us lots of pleasure. Then we moved to the Rabindra Bhararti - A place of Kabi Guru Rabindranath Thakur. We visited his five houses, museum, Asram, Kach Mahal, Chadim Tree and then Art gallery. After that we came back to hotel around 11.30 a.m. All of us had bath and then Lunch. After that we arrived to the Bolpure Station and get on to the Santiniketan Express at 1.10 p.m. The AC chair car cost Rs. 230 per head. The train took 2 and half an hour to reach Howrah station.
We started our journey at 6.30 a.m. on 25th March 2012 by Ambasedor car. The Contac for the site scene was Rs. 600. First we went Ekanna Pith which is approximately 9 k.m. apart from Bolpur. Behind the Ekanna Pith temple the Kopai river was appeared. Tagore wrote many poems sitting aside of the Kopai river. The overall view of this site was marvelous to me. The rural beauty was cherished with every second. Very long trees surrounded the place, along with green and golden rice trees was seen by bright and shining sun lights. There I had two alu chops. Then we moved to SonaJhur Jungle through Ranga Mateer Path. Tagore wrote very popular song with that Ranga Mateer Path. Ranga Matter path now is red due to Morum road. Within the Sonajhur Jungle, the Khopai river passed. Water of the Khoai river not exist, at the end of the khoai river one cannel is meet. That cannel is also connected with the Masenjor Barrage . That cannel now used to supply the water in farming fields.
Myself, nandini, and saranya was laid down to the Khopai river. Few romantic time was spent with my wife just beside the Khopai river. Then we listen Baul Song – Majdijia rakibae ….. Life time experience. The maela of the Sonjhur Jungle was really of great experience because of the art, and cultural activities and products. With my opinion, Bengalee People could only convert their thought and ideas into products and services in the field of Art and Culture so easily but not in Science and Technology. From Sonajhur Jungle, my wife, daughter and sister-in-law enjoyed traveling on Garur Gari (Vow pulled a car). Myself walking through Ranga Mateer Path just behind the Garur Gari. Suddenly battery of digital Camera was completely discharged, thus in vain to capture few precious moments.
The learning experience of myself is that Bengali People can convert Art and Culture to the products and services with brevity and encouragement whereas could not in Science and Technology.
